At Upbeat Music Academy, you’re not learning from a large team of instructors. We’re a family-run music school where you’ll get to know the teachers who are helping you or your child learn and grow as a musician.
Noel Wentworth
Noel teaches guitar, bass, and ukulele and has more than 25 years of teaching experience. He holds a Diploma in Music Performance from Selkirk College and a Licentiate in Music Education from RSL Awards.
Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time, learning your favourite songs, preparing for an exam, or looking to improve your playing, Noel focuses on helping students develop practical skills while enjoying the music they love.
Lora Wentworth
Lora teaches piano, saxophone, music theory, composition, and songwriting. She has more than 25 years of teaching experience and holds a Diploma in Music Performance & Composition from Selkirk College, a Licentiate in Music Education from RSL Awards, and Grade 8 RCM piano.
Lora enjoys helping students understand how music works while developing their technique, confidence, creativity, and independence. Lessons can be adapted to each student’s interests, whether they’re learning for fun, working toward an exam, or exploring their own musical ideas.

Noel and Lora founded Upbeat Music Academy in 2022 with the goal of creating a welcoming place where students of all ages can learn music, build confidence, and enjoy playing for years to come.
